Casting ballots: SHCBA elections to be held today

Three candidates are vying for the post of the president

The Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) will go to the polls today (Saturday) to elect its office-bearers for the year 2015-2016.


Three candidates, including Khalid Javed, Muhammad Ishaque (Saathi M Ishaque) and Saalim Salam Ansari are vying for the post of the president. For the post of the honorary secretary, Abdul Mobeen Lakho and Kashif Paracha are in the run.


Abdul Hamid Yusfi, Arshad Iqbal, Manzoor Ahmed, Mirza Sarfaraz Ahmed and Muhammad Waqarul Haq are contesting for the post of vice-president while Ghulam Haider Shaikh, Muhammad Arshad Qaiser Warsi alias Arshad Warsi and Nasir Latif Khan are vying for the post of joint secretary. Those contesting for the post of treasurer include Abbas Haider and Dildar Khan Jehangiri.


Sixteen candidates are in the field for the nine-member managing committee. These are Abdul Rauf Ansari, Aftab Ahmed B Channa, Azmat Hussain, Barrister Fayaz Ahmed, Fatima Jameela Jatoi, Fareeda Habib, Ghulam Hussain Niazi, Hussain Bux, Kamran Shahzad Siddiqui, Liaquat Ali Khaskheli, Marzia Begum, Muhammad Idrees Sukhera, Muhammad Naeem, Naveed Ali Khokhar, S Zulfiqar Haider Shah and Sabir Shah.
