Agriculture department said in Punjab over 16.5 million acres would be brought under wheat cultivation
SIALKOT:
During Rabi crop season wheat would be cultivated over half a million acres of land in Sialkot district for which free distribution of high-yielding certified wheat seed varieties has already begun. Sources in Agriculture department said in Punjab over 16.5 million acres would be brought under wheat cultivation during Rabi season in wheat growing parts of the province. However, special attention will be accorded to bring maximum land under wheat crop so as to attain high yield targets despite ‘climate change situation’ in the country. Agriculture department initiated ‘Farmers Training Programme’ to update growers on proportionate use of fertilisers and pesticides and natural cultivation techniques.
