Development, Challenges: Internet conference begins today
Some key points to be taken up are infrastructure and connectivity for sustainable development
ISLAMABAD:
An international conference on internet would be formally inaugurated on Tuesday to discuss opportunities and issues concerning internet development and challenges in the world. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is organising the three-day conference in collaboration with the Internet Society Asia-Pacific Bureau with the theme ‘Towards Digital Economy in Pakistan: Building ICT Agenda for Sustainable Development.’ Speakers from the Asia-Pacific region including the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and national experts would deliberate on the challenges in the digital world. Some key points to be taken up are infrastructure and connectivity for sustainable development, e-governance architecture, standards and implementation, building trust in cyberspace, growth of ICT industry and digital financial inclusion.
