Animosity: JUI-F leader along with cousin injured in firing

Source says Afzal Dab was going to Landa Sharif village for wedding ceremony when he was injured

Local Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader Malik Afzal Dab and his cousin Imran were injured in firing by unidentified men in DI Khan on Sunday.

Talking to The Express Tribune, an official of Gomal police station said Malik Afzal Dab was travelling on a motorbike with his cousin Imran when unidentified people opened fired on them.

“They were rushed to District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital DI Khan where doctors stated  their condition was stable,” he added.

According to a resident of Paroha, Afzal Dab was going to Landa Sharif village for a wedding ceremony when he was injured.

Talking to The Express Tribune, he said the incident could be the result of a family dispute. However, this has not been confirmed as yet.  An FIR has been registered with Gomal police station and further investigation is under way.
