Interior minister asks FO, FIA to devise a comprehensive strategy for its elimination

Terming it a blot for humanity, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan asked the Foreign Office and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday to devise a comprehensive strategy to eliminate the menace of human trafficking.

The interior minister said the devised policy should be helpful for Pakistanis living abroad, Radio Pakistan reported.



Acknowledging their goodwill, Nisar said overseas Pakistanis were an asset for the country, whereas human traffickers were earning a bad name for Pakistan.

The minister has also summoned a meeting of FIA to review the matter on Tuesday.

The interior ministry recently disclosed that it had arrested as many as 23 alleged human traffickers this year whose names appear in the FIA’s Red Book.
