PTI chief says 'vicious attacks' targeting Reham's financial integrity are absolutely unfounded

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan took to Twitter once again to defend Reham Khan, whom he announced to part ways with last month.

“Am ashamed of the moral collapse in our society, especially how some media people are conducting a baseless and malicious attack against Reham,” Imran said on Twitter.

Refuting reports of a financial settlement with Reham, the PTI chairman said, “The vicious attacks targeting Reham's financial integrity are absolutely unfounded. Shameful especially as she is a mother of three children.”

Imran’s statements came in response to media reports claiming Reham had been paid a huge sum of money as settlement for divorce.

Earlier, Reham also ruled out rumours of any agreement of a financial settlement as false. “It is unfortunate and condemnable how media has been indulging in unbecoming behavior and language,” she said.

“Media started with speculation and followed with serious accusations without evidence. The quest for ratings and the misogynistic witch hunt is shameful and I plan to campaign actively for a media ethics board monitoring all output,” Reham added.



She also rejected allegations that she had received Rs50 million and Rs80 million from PTI leaders Aleem Khan and Faisal Wada, respectively.

Since announcing their split on October 26, Imran and Reham have been forced to make several clarifications as many reports regarding their divorce have circulated in the media.

Everything from poisoning attempts to domestic violence (Imran being the alleged victim), family feuds, and even the unfair treatment of Imran’s dogs (yes, dogs), have been reported so far.
