Turkey has shown interest to invest in mega projects in key sectors of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and proposed a plan to declare one city each from Turkey and K-P as sister cities.
These views were expressed by Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Sadiq Babur Girgin, who called on Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at the CM Secretariat on Friday.
Khattak said, “The provincial government is taking concrete steps to overcome the energy crises while it has also initiated numerous development projects to facilitate the public.”
Showing interest in strengthening bilateral relations between Turkey and K-P, especially in gemstones, mining, energy, education and agriculture sectors, the ambassador proposed the delegates from the two countries should hold a meeting to finalise plans for investments in said sectors. He also put forward a proposal of declaring one city each from K-P and Turkey which have similar traditions as sister cities.
