RAWALPINDI:

An Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) team of Rawalpindi division foiled two drug smuggling bids and seized a huge quantity of contraband and arrested two suspected drug peddlers. On a tip-off, the ANF team intercepted a car near Chakri Motorway Interchange and recovered 24 kilograms of heroin from improvised cavities of the car. The suspected drug peddler, however, escaped the scene while taking advantage of darkness.  In another operation, the ANF team intercepted two alleged drug peddlers on GT Road near Attock city and recovered 6.250 kg of hashish from their possession. The drug peddlers were identified as Akbar Ali, a resident of Charsada, and Yaqoob Khan, a resident of Hangu. The drug peddlers were travelling in a Rawalpindi-bound van.
