Ericsson, Cisco expect sales boost from network alliance

The Swedish company said the partnership would 'create the networks of the future'

STOCKHOLM:
Sweden's telecommunications giant Ericsson and its US rival Cisco on Monday announced a partnership for telecommunication networks which is expected to boost each company's sales by an annual $1 billion dollars (920 million euros) within three years.

The alliance is to cover the routing, data center, networking, cloud, mobility, management and control areas as well as global services, Ericsson said in a statement.


Cisco router break-ins bypass cyber defences

The Swedish company said the partnership would "create the networks of the future".

Ericsson specializes in providing networks and services to telecommuncations operators, while Cisco offers networking solutions to a wider range of businesses and home users.
