PESHAWAR: The Provincial Transport Authority Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Monday issued a revised fares table for all categories of diesel consuming commuters transport coaches, AC buses, ordinary buses and luxury buses in proportion to the recent increase in prices of petroleum products. In the last fares table the fare was fixed at 93 paisa per kilometre.

Provincial Transport Authority Secretary Sariruddin Khan said the new fares table would apply only to diesel consuming commuter vehicles of the mentioned categories and there is no increase in the fares of CNG vehicles. It is pertinent to mention here that more than 90 per cent flying coaches use CNG, but, they also increased their fares on the pretext of increase in the prices of petroleum products. The transport fares on inter-provincial routes from various cities of the K-P and different cities of Punjab have also been reviewed and increased with the same ratio.
