State visit: Belarusian premier expected on November 9

ISLAMABAD:


Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov will be leading a high-powered delegation to Pakistan early next week during his maiden visit to the country.


According to an official handout, Kobyakov will arrive in Islamabad on November 9 for a two-day visit.


Kobyakov’s arrival will be preceded by a large delegation of Belarusian businessmen who are expected to participate in the third Pakistan-Belarus Business and Investment Forum, scheduled to be held on November 10.


Upon his arrival, the Belarusian premier is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.


Later, President Mamnoon Hussain will host a banquet for the visiting delegation. The two sides are also expected to sign several important agreements and memorandums during
the visit.


In this regard, Belarus’ Minister for Industry Vitaly Vovk called on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi at the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Friday. They discussed trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
