An accountability court on Tuesday granted three-day physical custody of former senator Ayaz Khan Mandokhel to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) with regards to a housing scam case.
Judge Nisar Baig awarded the remand, along with directions to NAB officials to investigate during the three days and produce a complete record before the court.
NAB Rawalpindi arrested the former senator on charges of corruption in Quetta recently.
Mandokhel is accused of allegedly selling and transferring land at low prices, in connivance with co-accused Rana Ghulam Murtaza, ex-additional secretary of Senate Secretariat of Pakistan, and his accomplice Muhammad Akram. Mandokhel is the alleged beneficiary of 40 kanals, which were sold by the housing society’s management in Gagri, Islamabad, without the approval of the circle registrar. The transaction is estimated to have caused a loss of Rs46 million to the society.
