
Syed Javed Shah, the party’s candidate for the UC’s vice-chairmanship, is a real estate consultant. Both are contesting elections for the first time. They say a girls’ school and a maternity and childcare centre are their foremost priorities. The candidates also promise to remedy other problems bedevilling the area.
Imran Ali, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI’s) candidate for the chairmanship of the UC, is in the cloth business. Maqsood Awan, the party’s candidate for the UC’s vice-chairmanship, is in the business of logistics. Both are contesting elections for the first time. They say they will strive to ensure the provision of clean drinking water, streetlights and sewerage facilities in the area.
The number of registered voters in the UC stands at 17,395. It encompasses Muhammaddin Colony, Deputy Yaqoob Colony, Ghousia Colony, Aman Park, Shahab Park and Ibrahim Colony.
