To avoid any damage as a result of aftershocks and as a pre-cautionary measure, Divisional President of Private Schools in Rawalpindi Prof Ibrar Ahmed has announced that all private schools will remain closed on Tuesday.
“It was to avoid any untoward incident following the reports of aftershocks from the disaster management body,” he said in a statement issued late on Monday night.
Private schools on their own have not agreed or denied following the directives of the head of the private body.
Meanwhile, a number of students at various schools in the twin cities were left in a state of fear and panic as a result of the earthquake.
A high school student Yasir Kiyani, while talking to The Express Tribune said that administrations of both the public as well as private schools should provide necessary training to all the students as to what they should do in case of an earthquake.
