Wheat crops: Farmers asked to use certified seeds
Any seed bag without a tag issued by the department will be considered as having substandard material
PESHAWAR:
Farmers in the province have been asked to sow certified seeds of notified wheat varieties for the approaching Rabi season. The directives were made by Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department in the province on Monday. The department has ordered seed inspection so the sale of substandard wheat seeds is prevented. The farmers have also been asked to report to the authorities if they find anyone selling poor quality seeds. A press release issued in the city read the certified seeds are being sold in bags bearing FSC and RD tags in blue colour. Any seed bag without a tag issued by the department will be considered as having substandard material.
