Behind bars: LeJ leader sent on judicial remand

A hate speech case against Allama Matloob Taqi has been adjourned till November 5

A special anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday sent a local leader of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) on judicial remand till November 7. Abdul Wajid, the suspect, was the Attock district secretary of the banned outfit and was arrested by the counter-terrorism department (CTD) of the police from Pind Dadan Khan in Jhelum district on October 23. Meanwhile, special ATCs on Monday recorded statements of witnesses in 10 other terrorism cases and adjourned the cases. A hate speech case against Allama Matloob Taqi has been adjourned till November 5 while an explosives recovery case against Momin Khan was adjourned till October 27. Mufti Imran murder case has also been adjourned.
