The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and Zhongli Sci-Tech University of China have decided to work together for promoting solar technology, through laboratory and community-based projects. A memorandum of understanding will be signed soon, said Dr Paul Nieand and Dr Welfei Lian, senior academicians from the Chinese university. They were speaking at a lecture-series arranged by AIOU physics department, said a press release on Tuesday. The AIOU will involve students for indigenous development of solar panels indigenously with technological support from the Chinese university. Chinese side will be prepared for technology transfer and provision of other technical support for producing solar cells. AIOU Physics Dept head Dr Zafar Ilyas said they are looking forward to strengthening their research collaboration with Chinese universities.
