Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan believes that the tainted trio of Salman Butt, Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Asif should be given a second chance as they have already been soundly punished for their involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal.
Moin told The Express Tribune in his academy that the trio’s selfish act embarrassed the whole nation.
“The act of Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Amir not only embarrassed Pakistani players but also tarnished the image of the country everywhere in the world,” said the former wicketkeeper-batsman.

“But they have served their sentence for their illegal act.
“Since they have repented on their act, tendered an apology to the nation and vowed to never repeat it, then why shouldn’t we give them a chance to be a part of the Pakistan cricket team.”
On a query regarding the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is scheduled to the played in the UAE in February next year, Moin said that it will be a good experience for the youngsters.
‘World will see a different Muhammad Amir on my return’
“PSL will definitely bring changes in domestic cricket and it will also build confidence amongst young players,” said Moin, adding that the lucrative league will prove help in building the confidence of domestic players after they share dressing rooms with foreign players.
