The Rotary International has pledged to provide every possible resource to improve the state of healthcare in Balochistan, particularly towards eradicating polio from the province, said the National Chair Polio-plus Committee of the Rotary International Club Dr Aziz Memon.
“The Rotary International will help set up health camps in Balochistan for children who are vulnerable to preventable diseases,” he said during a meeting at the anti-polio Emergency Operation Centre (EOC).
The meeting, jointly chaired by Aziz Memon and EOC Coordinator Dr Syed Saifur Rehman, was attended by officials of Unicef, WHO, BMGF, N-STOP and other stakeholders in anti-polio drive.
The meeting was not satisfied by the immunisation facilities and placement of health staff at the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate in Chaman and the lack of facilities at other transit points.
