PESHAWAR: Awami National Party’s provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was targeting its opponents through the Ehtesab Commission. Babak said that in his opinion the commission had no legal standing. In a press release issued from Bacha Khan Markaz, Babak was quoted as saying ANP has deep roots in the public. Many attempts were made in the past to keep ANP away from electioneering at gunpoint, however, those efforts were in vain. “If the Ehtesab Commission has any proof against Senator Sitara Aayaz, it should be made public. Issuing an arrest warrant without any proof means the Ehstesab Commission is a tool to harass political opponents,” he added. “We are ready for any accountability since ANP is a party of virtuous and untainted people,” he said.
