Senior minister meets ICCI president.

A senior minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has urged Pakistani investors to take advantage of the tremendous opportunities that the region has to offer in hydropower, minerals, tourism, and handicrafts sectors, said a press release issued on Saturday.

The AJK Senior Minister, Muhammad Yaseen shared these views on his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) here. He congratulated Atif Ikram Sheikh for his election to the office of president of the chamber.

The minister said that the AJK government was making investment-friendly policies to exploit unexplored natural resources.

He said that he appreciated the efforts of the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army for restoration of peace in the country.

Yaseen said that AJK government would provide all possible facilities and security to the businessmen interested in investing in the region.

Sheikh stressed that small dams should be constructed in the region to produce cheap electricity that would boost industrialisation in the country.

He said that AJK was an attractive region for tourism and emphasised that the AJK government should focus on improving roads infrastructure that would facilitate growth of business and investment activity.

Sheikh assured that ICCI would extend all possible cooperation to the AJK government in promoting investment to the region.
