Forecast: Rain, snowfall expected from Sunday

Met office predicts a westerly wave is likely to approach upper parts of the country

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, as well as in scattered places of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Kashmir from Sunday and Monday. The met office predicted that a westerly wave is likely to approach upper parts of the country on Sunday to produce rain and thunderstorms at scattered places in K-P, Islamabad, Upper Punjab including Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Lahore divisions, Fata, GB and Kashmir on Sunday & Monday.  The PMD spokesman also stated that the mountainous regions of Malakand division, GB and Kashmir may receive light snowfall on Monday.
