Nasty employers: ‘Illegally detained’ domestic help recovered

A domestic help and her two-month-old son were recovered from her employer’s house on court orders on Thursday. Police said Maaz, a resident of Cantt Eid Gah, had illegally detained Samina Bibi and her son after she had demanded payment for two months. Her family had filed a petition against Maaz. Following court orders on Thursday, the police raided Maaz’s house and recovered Samina Bibi and her son. Police said they had apparently been detained at Maaz’s house for a month. Police said they would produce the woman in court at the next hearing after which the court would proceed with the case. Samina Bibi told The Express Tribune that Maaz’s family had been abusive towards her. “They used to beat me up with a plastic pipe…I have the scars to prove it.”
