Ayyan may be indicted on Oct 28
The judge also deferred the indictment against Ayyan owing to the submission of the acquittal plea
RAWALPINDI:
The Customs court hearing the currency smuggling case against model Ayyan Ali on Thursday postponed the hearing till October 28. Ayyan’s lawyer Latif Khosa submitted a petition for acquittal of his client which Judge Aftab Khan accepted and asked that it be deliberated at the next hearing. The judge also deferred the indictment against Ayyan owing to the submission of the acquittal plea. Customs legal adviser Amin Feroze told the court he was ready to debate the acquittal plea to which Khosa objected and asked for an adjournment as proceedings on the plea could not take place the day it was submitted. The court then gave one last adjournment date for Ayyan’s indictment.
