Following court order: ECP defers LG polls in several UCs

The ECP also delayed elections in six union councils of Rawalpindi including Khalool

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday deferred the election process at different union councils in Rawalpindi district in pursuance of the order of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench. The ECP postponed the local government elections in Murree tehsil’s Dhar Jawa, Tret, Murree city, Ghora Gali and Charhan union councils. In Kotli Sattian tehsil, elections have been postponed in Maloot Sattian, Bhattian, Karor, Lehtrar and Chajjana union councils, said a notification issued by the ECP on Friday. The ECP also delayed elections in six union councils of Rawalpindi including Khalool, Beor, Sakoot, Balkhar, Kotha Kalan (I) and Kotha Kalan (II).
