ISLAMABAD: A charity photography display event was organised at the Marriott Hotel to raise funds for marginalised women, including paraplegic survivors of the 2005 Kashmir Earthquake. The event --- organised by Paper Miracles in collaboration with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Rodolfo Martin-Saravia --- featured two exhibitions taking place simultaneously. Photographs of Pakistan taken by diplomats, foreign dignitaries and heads of diplomatic missions were on display at the ‘Colours of Pakistan – Through the eyes of the diplomats’ show, along with some powerful photos of the 2005 Kashmir Earthquake by renowned Japanese photographer Kenjiro Sato in the ‘Shattered Colours’ exhibit. The event was inaugurated by Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata and Saravia, who is also the Ambassador of Argentina. Paper Miracles founder Elli Takagaki and JOBS Group Chairman Imran Shauket explained the history behind the event. The highlight of the show was a live dance performance by Islamabad Japanese School students to Wadaiko drums played by Ambassador Inomata.
