
Three children died and two siblings and their father were injured after the second floor of a house collapsed on Tuesday.
Madina Town SHO said Maqsood Masih, a resident of Nawaban Wala, and his children were visiting their relatives Anwar Masih and his family in Dawood Colony.
Maqsood Masih was a mason and Anwar Masih had asked him to construct an upper storey at his house. The SHO said during the construction, the decrepit roof caved in and Maqsood Masih and his four children Rida, 12, Taimour, 8, Raja, 3, Elishba, 2, and their cousin Sahil, 4, were caught under the debris. Several people in the area came over and tried to rescue the victims.
A Rescue-1122 team arrived there and pulled the victims out of the debris. They said three of the children – Sahil, Rida and her sister Elishba had received serious injuries and died. Maqsood and his sons Taimour and Raja were taken to a hospital. Doctors treating them said they condition was serious.
