Mina stampede: Death toll of Pakistani pilgrims rises to 60

Around 90 Pakistani nationals also believed to be missing since the tragic incident

The number of Pakistani pilgrims killed in the Mina stampede has risen to 60 while 49 of them are injured, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said on Sunday.

The list uploaded on the ministry’s site includes 60 Pakistani pilgrims confirmed dead.


Out of the 60 pilgrims, deaths of 26 were verified by Saudi authorities, whereas the passing away of the remaining 34 were reported by relatives and eyewitnesses.

As many as 90 Pakistani nationals are also believed to be missing since the tragic incident.

The Mina stampede is said to be one of the worst disasters during the annual Hajj pilgrimage in 25 years, in which over 1100 have so far been killed.
