Domestic violence: Man booked for setting wife alight
The police have registered a case against the suspect but not yet arrested him
RAWALPINDI:
The Saddar police have booked a man for allegedly setting his wife on fire. Nahid Akhtar, sister of the victim lodged a complaint with the local police that her brother-in-law, Muhammad Kashif, tortured and set on fire her sister, Nasima, by sprinkling petrol on her after they argued over a domestic issue. According to the complainant, the victim sustained serious burn wounds and she has been admitted to Rawalpindi’s district headquarters hospital where doctors have declared her condition critical. The police have registered a case against the suspect but not yet arrested him.
