ISLAMABAD:

An expert has said that controlling emissions and gases of refrigerators and air conditioners that harm the ozone layer was the need of the hour to protect earth’s health and for sustainability.

Climate Change Ministry National Programme Manager for Ozone Protection Initiative Mazhar Hayat said ozone-depleting gases have made a hole in the ozone layer, which protects the earth from ultraviolet radiation.

“Thanks to the global community’s efforts, the ozone-depletion problem has substantially been addressed,” he told the media at the ministry on Saturday.
