Enraged family members of a patient who died at Faisalabad Allied Hospital smashed windowpanes of the coronary care unit and thrashed doctors on Thursday.
They also staged a sit-in in front of the hospital and chanted slogans against the hospital administration.
Talking to newsmen, Abdul Lateef, one of the protesters, said Muhammad Akhtar, a resident of Chak202-RB, was brought to the coronary ward with chest pain. He was given an injection by the doctors on duty. He said the injection proved fatal and Akhtar died a few minutes later.

Later, a police team headed by Lyallpur Town SP Owais Malik met the protesters and assured them that action would be taken against those found responsible for the death.
The SP also met doctors on duty who agreed to form an inquiry committee to probe the matter.
Talking to The Express Tribune, the hospital MS said the committee would investigate the incident and take action against any doctors found guilty of negligence.
