KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested two alleged financiers of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan during a raid. The suspects, Muhammad Zareef and Abdul Ghaffor, were arrested near the meteorological department in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Their arrests were disclosed by SSP Junaid Shaikh at a press conference at his office on Thursday evening. The CTD officials also claimed to have seized a number of SIM cards belonging to Pakistan and Afghanistan service providers. The suspects were running an illegal international gateway exchange in different parts of the city, said the officials. “They used to collect funds from the Pak-Afghan Taliban,” said an official. “Their associates in various foreign countries are also involved in this business.”
