KARACHI:

A team of the anti-corruption department raided various government offices in the metropolis and confiscated important records, on Wednesday afternoon.

The officials of the anti-corruption department raided the Motor Vehicle Registration Department (MVRD) and seized some files. "We raided MCRD, following the frequent complaints by citizens over the issuance of registration numbers on the basis of fake documents," said anti-corruption department chairperson Mumtaz Ali Shah.

Separately, the anti-corruption officials also raided various other government departments located in East, West and South districts. Those departments included the sub-registrars offices, livestock and health departments. The team also confiscated some important documents over the suspicion of massive corruption being carried out in these departments.  "Right now we have only raided and confiscated the data," said Shah, adding that after scrutiny, they will register the cases and arrest the officials of these departments if found guilty.
