Crime scene: Commando gunned down by alleged target killers

SHO Zaheer Hussain says the actual motive behind the incident is yet to be ascertained

A police commando was gunned down in Orangi Town by unidentified assailants on Tuesday.


Sindh police's Rapid Response Force (RRF) commando, Sher Ali alias Munna, 26, was shot outside his house when two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire at him. Ali was posted at the Razzaqabad Police Training Centre but was on a 12-days leave when the incident occurred.

He was shot multiple times and died on the spot, said the police. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his family after the completion of medico-legal formalities.

The actual motive behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, said SHO Zaheer Hussain. However, it seems that the deceased was killed over personal enmity, he added.

Bodies found

Separately, a man's body was found on Hawkes Bay road in Mochko. The victim was shot multiple times. The victim was killed after kidnapping, said the police. The body was taken to Civil Hospital, where he was identified as Nadeem Taqi, 35. The deceased was a resident of Surjani Town.

The victim's family claimed that Taqi was kidnapped from outside his residence at night on September 13, said SHO Muhammad Faisal.

In another case, a decomposed body was found near Northern Bypass in Manghopir. The police said that the deceased is yet to be identified as the body was at least 20 days old.
