ICC match referees: Richardson joins Elite Panel

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Monday that former West Indies captain Richie Richardson has been appointed to the Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees in place of Sri Lanka’s Roshan Mahanama, who stepped down last week.
The 53-year-old captained his side in 24 Tests and 87 ODIs.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Monday that former West Indies captain Richie Richardson has been appointed to the Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees in place of Sri Lanka’s Roshan Mahanama, who stepped down last week.
Richardson will take over the match referee’s role after he has finished his current assignment as the West Indies cricket team manager, which will end with the Sydney Test against Australia starting on January, 3 2016.
“I am excited and honoured to have been selected for one of the most important jobs in cricket,” said Richardson.
