Lab Tests: Agriculture dept fails to meet targets
After the lab test, 22 samples of pesticides and 59 of fertilisers were found as 'substandard'

The Sindh Agriculture Extension department has failed to meet the target it set for the collection of samples of pesticides and fertilisers for the lab tests. At a meeting on Friday, director-general Hidayatullah Chajro said that they collected 910 samples of pesticides against the target of 1,837 and only 522 of the fertilisers against 1,511. After the lab test, 22 samples of pesticides and 59 of fertilisers were found as 'substandard', he said, adding that the dealers of these agricultural inputs will face government action. The agriculture provincial secretary, Shahid Gulzar Shaikh, asked the department's divisional directors to improve performance and to carry out this exercise every month.
