Targeted attacks : Journalist among three shot dead
Minutes after Alam’s murder, two supporters of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) were shot dead in targeted attack
KARACHI:
A journalist and two sympathisers of a religious organisation were shot dead in two separate incidents of targeted killing Wednesday afternoon in District Central of the metropolis. Aftab Alam, who had been associated with different media organisations, was shot dead near UP Morr in North Karachi within the limits of Sir Syed police station. Police officials said Alam was leaving home to pick up his children from the school when gunmen riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on his car. He received one bullet to his head and died en route to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Sir Syed SHO Javed Yousufzai said Alam had been jobless for the past one-and-a-half year. Minutes after Alam’s murder, two supporters of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) were shot dead in a targeted attack in North Karachi.
