KARACHI:
Despite taking months to prepare the central contracts list, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) failed to make it flawless as just three days after its official announcement, the board realised Imad Wasim had not been included.
Imad — now part of Category D — along with Anwar Ali became heroes back in Pakistan after their scintillating batting performance in the second T20 against Sri Lanka last month. The left-hander won the T20 against the Islanders with a six when five were needed off as many deliveries.
Imad has now been added to the list of 27 players who have been offered central contracts for the year 2015-16 following PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan’s approval upon chief selector Haroon Rashid’s request.
“Owing to a typographic oversight, Imad Wasim’s name was omitted from the list of centrally contracted players. Imad was in the selection committee’s list in Category D,” said Haroon. “But while submitting the names for approval, his name was erroneously omitted from the list. The error stands corrected now.”
