LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Monday granted bail to Shaukat Bangash, son of Senator Saifullah Bangash. In his application, Bangash had said National Accountability Bureau had arrested him for selling a banquet hall illegally on August 9 and for his involvement in a Rs980 million fraud case.  He said he had sold a piece of his land to Asian Gas Company for Rs50 million. He said he had not been involved in fraud and that the NAB had no evidence to substantiate its claims. A NAB prosecutor told the court that Bangash’s bail application should be rejected because he was being questioned. After recording the statements, the court directed Bangash to submit Rs500,000 surety bonds and granted him bail.
