Heist: Bank employees robbed, guard shot
Police took Ameen to Bahawal Victoria Hospital where doctors said his condition was critical
BAHAWALPUR:
Two employees of a private bank were waylaid on Tuesday by unidentified men who took away Rs2 million from them.
Police said the robbers shot one of the employees, Haji Ameen, who worked as a guard at the bank. Police said Yazman Punjab Bank’s cashier Usman and Ameen had withdrawn Rs2 million from a National Bank of Pakistan branch. Three men on motorcycles stopped them and demanded that they hand over the money. Ameen put up resistance and the men shot him in both feet. They took the cash and fled. Police took Ameen to Bahawal Victoria Hospital where doctors said his condition was critical.
