Law and order: Jewellery shop looted in Charsadda

A jewellery shop was looted by three men in Tangi Bazaar, Charsadda on Monday. Police and eyewitnesses told The Express Tribune, 62.5 grammes of gold were stolen from the premises.


According to Umair, the owner of the shop, three men came to his shop on Monday morning. They paid the jeweller Rs50,000 and asked if they could take a gold set weighing 62.5 grammes with them to show their families.


The jeweller agreed and sent one of his workers with the men. During the journey, the three men snatched the jewellery from the worker and stole another Rs50,000 from him. Further investigation is under way.


Separately, a large number of burglary cases surfaced in Umarzai.


Locals told The Express Tribune a group of 20 to 25 people is believed to be involved in these incidents.
