Balochistan reference: Slain journalists remembered

QUETTA: On the first death anniversary of senior journalist Irshad Mastoi, the journalist community in Balochistan has declared August 28 as Youm-e-Shauda-e-Sahafat day of Balochistan. A condolence reference was organised by the Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) to pay tribute to three slain journalists who were gunned down at their office in downtown Quetta on August 28 last year. The Journalists from PFUJ and BUJ paid rich tribute to the martyred journalists. Addressing the condolence reference, BUJ President Hammadullah said that journalists in Balochistan have boycotted the judicial commission hearings because it was not constituted on our demands. “We demanded the judicial commission be tasked to investigate the killings of 40 journalists who were killed in Balochistan but they were tasked to investigate only a single case.”
