Old hostility: Labourer shot dead in Kotli Sattian

The police launched a manhunt and reportedly arrested one of the suspects, Gul Bahar

KOTLI SATTIAN:
A 52-year-old labourer was shot dead by three persons over an old hostility in Kotli Sattian on Monday night. The suspected murderers have been identified as Gul Bahar, Nafees and Qamar.

The brutal incident took place in Bilara Sharif Village on Monday night when three armed persons shot and killed Muhammad Naeem. The father of six young children was found murdered near his house by his three daughters, Misbah, Iram, Anum, when they were on their way to school on Tuesday morning.

The girls cried for help after finding their father lying dead. Residents gathered at the site and informed the local police who shifted Naeem’s body to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kotli Sattian for medico-legal formalities.


The victim’s family told The Express Tribune that Naeem was killed over a family feud. Naeem’s son told the police the suspects arrived at their house five days ago and threatened to kill his father over a dispute.

Police said Naeem was shot eight times in his chest and waist, adding that the attackers did not steal Rs108,000 in cash which was found in the victim’s pocket.

The police launched a manhunt and reportedly arrested one of the suspects, Gul Bahar. However, his formal arrest has yet to be registered.
