ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) on Wednesday said it has identified three new hill stations, with a potential of becoming major tourist attractions, in adjacent localities of Naran and Kaghan valleys.

PTDC Managing Director Chaudhry Kabir Ahmed said “The mountains there are at a height of 7,500 to 8,000 feet. The new hill stations will help increase tourism activities in the area,” he said in a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Muhammad Safdar. The party’s Senator Lt Gen (retd) Salahuddin Tirmizi was also present at the meeting.

After the development of hill stations and construction of a 45-kilometre road, PTDC would open hotels and motels there to facilitate local as well as foreign tourists, explained Ahmed.

Safdar said the discovery of new hill stations would prove to be a milestone in promoting tourism in the country.

He said a number of development projects were being carried out in different areas including Naran, Kaghan, Babusar Top, Torghar and Sri Pahar, besides at lakes Saiful Malook and Dudpatsar to facilitate locals and tourists.

Tirmizi thanked the federal government for initiating remarkable development projects in NA-20 and NA-21 constituencies.
