KARACHI:

Karachi University registrar Moazzam Ali said that in collaboration with the law enforcing agencies at the campus, short- and long-term plans are being devised and enforced for the campus’s security.

A survey has been conducted regarding this by the university administration, according to which, CCTV cameras will be installed on different checkpoints and main entrance gates of the campus while a central control room will also be built. “The graphic works of this plan have been completed and the formal proceedings will soon take place in the coming days,” said Ali.

Ali said that private security guards will be hired to ensure a peaceful, safe and pleasant environment in the campus, which is a symbol of prestige of the educational institutions. Proper lighting arrangements will also be ensured by installing modern search lights on the roads of the campus, he added.
