The Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in a statement denounced the act, saying India was using disgraceful tactics to break the will for freedom of the Kashmiri people.
The party, however, reiterated the Kashmiris would continue their struggle for right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference at a meeting presided by chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Srinagar expressed concern over cancellation of the National Security Adviser-level talks between nuclear-armed Pakistan and India.
The move could prove disastrous for the peace in South Asian region, the APHC said.
The scheduled NSA talks of the two neighbours were called off just hours before Sartaj Aziz, the prime minister’s adviser of national security and foreign affairs, was set to fly to New Delhi.
Separately, Indian Kashmir’s Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khanday has sought early retirement, three-and-half months before his term ends, according to the Press Trust of India.
