MUMBAI:
Shaandaar actor Alia Bhatt says that she hopes to emulate sultry actor Katrina Kaif’s balance of being hot, different and fit at the same time.

“Regarding Katrina, you see all her songs whether it is Chikni Chameli, Sheila Ki Jawaani or Dhoom, she looks different in each song. She’s still hot and she’s still fit at the same time... she’s still different. So that is something that I hope to achieve in life if I get the opportunity,” said Alia at the launch of the book, Sculpt and Shape: the Pilates Way written by well-known fitness experts Yasmin Karachiwala and Zeena Dhalla.

Asked by a journalist about the importance of a hot body to get better roles, Alia said, “I feel nowadays there are characters and we’re trying to fit into characters. Just looking at my roles, for Udta Punjab, I had to lose a lot of weight because I was playing a particular character, for Shaandaar I had to fit into a bikini and look desirable as a woman, not as a girl.”

Katrina and Sophie Chaudhry were also present. Alia and Katrina, who are trained by Yasmin for their toned bodies said that they blindly follow Yasmin’s instructions and credited her for their fit bodies.

Alia feels monotony is a decisive factor which can affect the popularity with fans. “I feel it becomes a bit boring to look a particular way the whole time and you have to change it up. That’s why it’s important to create your own look, when it comes to a character. You also have to be fortunate to get the different characters that you are playing. But people get bored seeing you the same way.”

Alia, who launched the trailer of her childhood friend Anushka Ranjan’s debut film Wedding Pullav, says 32 is the right age to get married.”I am just 22 and I think 32 will be right age to taste the wedding pulav. I have not tasted shaadi ka ladoo, so I hopefully will not regret,” Alia said at the launch.

Speaking about the qualities she would look for in her groom, Alia said she wants him to have a good sense of humour. “He must make me laugh, then obviously comes good looks, good looks and good looks,” she said.

When there is high emotion, I get shaken and get emotional about films as well.”
