QUETTA: Three bullet-riddled bodies of kidnapped labourers of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) were found dumped near Mirani Dam in the Dasht area of Turbat on Sunday.

Some three days ago, four labourers working on the M8 project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in Dasht were kidnapped. One of the kidnapped men was released safely, but the rest were brutally killed.

The deceased were identified as Jumma Khan, Yahya Khan and Gul Khan, the three workers held by the insurgents. Turbat DC Mumtaz Ahmed said the deceased belonged to Waziristan and Quetta.

Frontier Corps troops detained nine suspects on charges of involvement in the abduction and killing of the FWO workers.

According to an FC spokesman, the paramilitary force launched a search operation in the area soon after the bodies were found. “Around nine militants of the banned Baloch Republic Army (BRA) have been arrested for involvement in the kidnapping of the FWO labourers during a search operation launched after the bodies of the FWO surfaced.
