ISLAMABAD:
Work on the Park Enclave Housing Scheme gathered further pace on Sunday as the civic agency started marking street and plot numbers.

Work on the project, announced by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in 2011, could not get off the ground due to a host of reasons until recently.

The work on the scheme that includes construction of major roads, service roads, streets, drainage system, water supply lines etc started recently after the civic agency and the contractor mobilised machinery and other resources.

On Sunday, CDA teams after demarcating the land started marking street and plot numbers besides initiating landscaping and plantation work at the housing scheme located on the Park Road.

“Fixing streets boards mentioning plot numbers started on Sunday, as the CDA is also in the process of giving final touches to internal and connecting roads at the scheme,” said CDA Spokesperson Ramzan Sajid.

He said that the CDA has directed the contractor to employ additional manpower and machinery to complete the remaining patchwork work within the stipulated timeframe.

Nowadays, the CDA management was carrying frequent visits to the site to monitor the progress of work on the project.

“All out resources available with the CDA have been mobilised to help the contractor complete work on the project within the deadline,” Sajid said.

Project Director Mumtaz Hussain said that street numbering and landscaping has been initiated after completing work on major roads and the retaining walls of seasonal nullahs.

Hussain said that different indigenous trees and plants have been planted on green belts of the colony.

He said that the CDA was also considering constructing a boundary wall along main approach roads connecting the project.
