Public safety: Four sent to jail for reckless driving

The FIRs were registered under Sections 279 (rash driving) of the Pakistan Penal Code and 99 of the MVO

LAHORE: Four men caught for reckless driving were on Sunday sent on a 14-day judicial remand. The FIRs registered against them with Muslim Town, Gulberg and Ghalib Market police stations stated that they were caught for endangering road safety by speeding on their motorbikes. The FIRs were registered under Sections 279 (rash driving) of the Pakistan Penal Code and 99 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance. Speaking before the magistrate, the counsel for the suspects had dismissed the charge and said that their clients were wrongly implicated in the cases.
